Then you could be the perfect fit for our QC scientist position. At Bactolife, we are in the initial stages of establishing our QC platform and are seeking a skilled protein scientist to spearhead the development of our protein-protein interaction assays. Your role will also involve implementing a program for characterizing analytical standards and reagents.

You will be working closely with a small team of lab technicians and scientists and collaborate with our research, production and application teams to ensure smooth transfer of know-how on the chemistry and analytical aspects of our products. Additionally, you will engage with external partners like CROs and CDMOs as we finalize method transfers and production processes.

The job: 

As a QC Scientist, your primary responsibility will be to develop and optimize SPR and ELISA assays for protein-protein interaction studies to support our Quality Control (QC) processes. You will utilize your expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology to design experimental protocols and conduct hands-on laboratory work to generate robust and reproducible data. You will play a key role in troubleshooting assay-related issues, propose innovative solutions to enhance assay performance and efficiency. Your thorough record-keeping of experiments, protocols, and results is crucial for meeting regulatory standards and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our products.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master of Science in biochemistry, biotechnology, food technology, or equivalent, with a thorough knowledge of protein chemistry
  • Interest in analytical development and QC within food, feed, or pharma industries
  • Experience with analysis of protein-protein interaction using SPR and ELISA
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and drive projects to completion
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in assay development

We need your expertise to bring functional and validated Binding Proteins supporting gut health to market.
